Dr. Alycia Brown, MD

Alycia M. Brown, MD, is a double board-certified adult and child/adolescent psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience. She has experience in many areas of mental health, but special areas of interest/additional expertise: ADHD, anxiety, eating disorders, high functioning autism (formerly Asperger syndrome), LGBTQ+ populations.

Her education includes a medical degree from UNC Chapel Hill (2000), with her residency and child fellowship completed there as well. She is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a member of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.

I would recommend Dr Brown to ANYONE! I suffered with depression & panic/anxiety disorder for 30 yrs. I saw her & she read my records. A totally different diagnosis! I was on XANAX for 30 yrs! She got me off those & put me on the RIGHT meds for me. My life has changed so much! I FEEL NORMAL, HAPPY, CALM, GRATEFUL ! After finding out the proper meds & therapy, I have NOT had to see a psychiatrist 4 yrs!!! A WONDERFUL woman and Dr! I'm so very grateful!
