Medication management is like having a personalized roadmap for your health journey. It involves not just getting a prescription but understanding why, how, and when to take your medications. It’s about building a partnership with your healthcare team, from the prescription pad to your medicine cabinet. This process ensures you’re not just taking pills but actively participating in your well-being, with ongoing communication and adjustments to make sure the road to good health is as smooth as possible. It’s your health story, and medication management helps you navigate each chapter with confidence.
Psychotherapy, often referred to as talk therapy, is a collaborative and evidence-based approach to improving emotional well-being and resolving psychological difficulties. It involves conversations between an individual or a group and a trained mental health professional. The goal of psychotherapy is to explore and understand thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, leading to positive changes and the development of coping strategies. It can address a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and more. The duration and frequency of psychotherapy sessions vary based on individual needs and treatment goals, fostering a supportive and confidential environment for personal growth and healing.
A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment conducted by a mental health professional, typically a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse practitioner, or physician associate. This evaluation aims to gather detailed information about an individual’s mental health, emotional well-being, and overall functioning. During the evaluation, the clinician explores various aspects, including medical history, family history, current symptoms, and any relevant psychosocial factors. The goal is to form a clear understanding of the individual’s mental health concerns, diagnose any potential psychiatric disorders, and develop an appropriate treatment plan. Psychiatric evaluations may involve interviews, standardized assessments, and collaboration with other healthcare providers. These evaluations are crucial in tailoring personalized interventions, such as therapy, medication, or a combination of both, to support the individual in achieving optimal mental health.

We see a range of patients, including starting at age 6 up to the age of 65. Exceptions can be made for previous patients. While we do work with some children, the decision depends on the nature of the issue; however, we do not see children younger than 6 years old. This approach allows us to tailor our services to the unique needs of adolescents and adults while ensuring the appropriateness of care for younger individuals based on the specific challenges they may be facing. If you have questions about age eligibility, feel free to discuss your situation with us for personalized guidance.
